ALBERT

ALBERT BESTEIRO: "This photo was taken in Matamoros where I had been held in a dark room for several days. I told them I was a reporter for The McHale Report. They blindfolded me and drove me to an undisclosed location with where gambling and other vices were flourishing in a large warehouse to the best of my perception. I could hear other kidnapped victims screaming, but I was kept isolated. Fortunately, nobody asked for my credentials, but they did keep asking if I was affiliated with the Baker Boys. I answered that I had never heard of those vatos. I was able to take this photo and return to the U.S. alive. As a photo journalist, it was one of the most terrifying and thrilling moments of my otherwise mundane life."
(EDITOR'S NOTE: Since The Baker Boys were busy on another assignment, we encountered Albert at The Toddle Inn. Counting on his long-time connections across the border and his discrete reputation, we gave him an address near the plaza on Fifth Street and asked him to speak to a certain individual. Maclovio O'Malley's sister was recently kidnapped outside of Garcia's as she crossed the bridge to buy her monthly allotment of Xanax. We were informed that a resident at this domicile would have valuable information concerning the victim. It turned out to be a false lead. We sincerely apologize to Albert because at The McHale Report safety comes first although we do calculate risks. To mitigate Albert's trauma, we have paid "Delta" Dave Handelman for a month's worth of guitar lessons that focuses on esoteric cords as Albert always appreciates an unexpected lick. Should we encounter Albert at The Sportsman Club, the next bucket is on us.)
