GOOD NIGHT, MY CHILD
Good night, my child.
Your daddy is no longer wild.
The passing years have left me tame.
I can no longer fly.
I am living out the lie.
I can hardly walk I am so lame.
It is getting old I blame.
Before long I will be a forgotten name.
Nothing remains the same.
Not even for those who have fame.
Time will extinguish their flame.
And your comely mother? A wrinkled dame.
We weren't destined to win this game.
